4th Annual Hill Progressive Dinner

This post will be about people eating, in fact, the pictures will also be of several people eating at several different locations.
Last Saturday we did it again, the local Hills (I say local cause one family is in Idaho, one in Mongolia, and one in the Chicago), got together for some good food and fun.  It was a much smaller group this time, only 16, but we still managed to have a party for 30.
We started at my house for appetizers.
I had to laugh because I set out the veggie platter (which remained almost completely intact), two bags of chips, and cream cheese with jalepeno jelly and crackers.  Both bags of chips and the whole plate of cream cheese were devoured in about 15 minutes.  Go fam!!!
And then because we always have to compete at something, we had a sit up competition.  Do as many sit ups in one minute!  The kids and most of the adults got in on the fun.  Wells surprised me and got in line, he managed 30 in one minute....not bad big guy!
After filling ourselves at my house, we moved down to Danny and Haley's in West Point.  They provided the salad for the night.  She made a fabulous green salad with the Cafe Rio dressing.  Wellyn ate two plates of salad (if you know Wells, you know just how shocked Jon and I were).
Here's my mom relaxing, not that she has a choice.  She broke her foot in October and still can't put weight on it, poor lady!

After Danny and Haley's, we were able to drive down to Salt Lake and do a little digesting at the same time.  Mike and Hailey's apartment was the next stop.  This was the first time we have stopped there.  Last year they were a week shy of being married.  It worked perfectly since we lost our last stop at my sister's house when they moved to Mongolia.  Mike and Hailey were gracious hosts and Hailey made some awesome homemade pizza.
Here's E and I.  E had an allergic reaction to something so he was covered in hives and a very unhappy kid!

My dad looks a little scary but most likely he was making faces at E, trying to get him to smile!  He really doesn't smile like this:)
Last stop is always the yummiest.  Dessert is definitely the Hill's favorite stop.  Dave and Amanda had quite the spread, and we partook of it all!
Just when we thought the evening was over, there was a knock (or jingle) at the door.  When the kids answered it, they found Santa was there to make an appearance.  Hot dog!!!
Wells of course knew this was just a helper but he kept it quiet for the other kids.  In fact when we got in the car to go, he told Jon and I that he knew Santa was really Uncle Danny, but that's ok.  Danny was helping Santa, and he wouldn't tell the other kids. Either way, Wells still hopped on his lap and told "Santa" his entire list!
Everett was not about to get close.  He wouldn't even take the candy canes, he made Jon grab them.
So that was it, we left being incredibly full and sick but happy and with great memories.  I seriously LOVE LOVE LOVE this tradition.  I can't wait until everyone is back in Utah and hopefully one day, there are 8 stops instead of 4.  Thanks fam!

I love so mann thing about that post! Your dad's face is awesome, and Wellyn was so mature about Santa, I loved it! Don't hate because me, Dan, Mike and Hailey ate all the chips and dip! And Wellyn's sit ups were pretty impressive! Love the tradition :)
